【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경북테크노파크(원장 하인성)는 지난 29일 포항에 위치한 이차전지종합관리센터에서 신라공업고등학교(교장 서동욱) 학생들을 대상으로 이차전지 관련 신기술과 사용후 배터리의 재사용 및 재활용에 대한 현장 맞춤형 교육을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이차전지종합관리센터는 다양한 전기자동차 배터리의 구조와 원리를 직접 눈으로 보고 체험하는 현장 교육을 통해 이론으로만 접하던 한정적 교육을 넘어 실물 기반의 이차전지 배터리 전반에 대한 인식을 넓히는 계기를 마련했다.

특히 이번 현장 교육을 통해 사용후 배터리의 재사용을 위한 입고, 해체, 성능평가 등에 대한 전반적인 이해와 이차전지 산업의 현재와 미래 기술, 사용후 배터리의 산업화를 위한 관련 법률, 신기술 등을 학습함으로써 신라공업고등학교 학생들의 진로 설계에 도움을 주는 기회를 제공했다.

이번 현장 체험은 신라공업고등학교 70여 명의 학생들과 인솔 교사들이 참여했다. 이차전지종합관리센터에서는 현재 수행하고 있는 국책사업들을 소개하고, ‘25년 10월 블루밸리산업단지에 내 준공과 더불어 신규 인력 채용 예정인 “전기차 사용후 배터리 자원순환 클러스터”, “전기차 사용후 인라인 자동평가 설비구축사업” 등을 소개함으로써 학생들의 진로 결정에 도움을 주었다.

이차전지종합관리센터는 지역의 우수한 기업 및 기관 견학을 통한 학습·취업 관련 동기 부여를 통해 학생들의 진로 설계에 도움을 주고자 하는 신라공업고등학교의 교육프로그램 목적에 부합하는 현장 교육을 실시함으로써 학생들에게 다양한 경험을 제공하여 견문을 넓히는 데 도움을 주도록 노력했다.

경북테크노파크는 포항시 블루밸리산업단지 내 이차전지종합관리센터를 ‘21년 8월에 완공하여 열충격시험기, 복합부식시험기 등 배터리 신뢰성 평가장비 등을 운영하면서 기업을 지원하고 있다. 또한 ‘22년 환경부로부터 “전기차 사용후 배터리 인라인 자동평가 설비 구축사업”을 수주하여 사용후 배터리의 성능검사, 검사 자동화 및 수거부터 출하에 이르는 신속한 진단평가를 위한 공장형 시스템을 ‘26년부터 운영할 예정이다.

‘23년 4월부터 ‘25년 12월까지 산업부로부터 “고안전 보급형 리튬인산철 배터리 상용화 기반구축사업”을 수주하여 저가형 LFP 배터리 산업 발전에 기여 등 다양한 국책과제를 수주하여 지역 중소기업의 연구개발을 적극 지원하고 있다.
