【브레이크뉴스 경산】이성현 기자=(재)경북테크노파크(원장 하인성)는 입주기업 ㈜투엔(대표 김재훈)이 지난 10월 24일부터 25일까지 미국 메릴랜드주 개이더스버그에서 열린 ‘제9회 KIC DC 테크 서밋(Tech Summit)’에 참가해 글로벌 IR(Investor Relations) 경연에서 ‘체인지 메이커 어워드(Change Maker Award)’를 수상했다고 4일 밝혔다.

이번 수상은 ㈜투엔이 보유한 막증류(Membrane Distillation, MD) 기술을 기반으로 한 독자적인 수처리 기술의 혁신성과 글로벌 시장 잠재력을 국제 무대에서 공식적으로 인정받은 의미 있는 성과다.

㈜투엔은 2021년 설립된 친환경 기술 전문기업으로, 2023년 경북테크노파크 첨단메디컬융합섬유센터 공장동에 입주했다. 유수 분리, 폐수 정제, 수전해 등 핵심 수처리 기술을 기반으로 다양한 산업 현장에서 친환경 에너지 솔루션을 개발하고 있다.

특히 미국, 일본, 싱가포르 등 글로벌 기업들과의 협약 체결을 통해 기술협력을 강화하고 있으며, 일본 기업에 유수 분리기를 수출하는 등 해외 시장에서도 경쟁력을 입증하고 있다.

㈜투엔의 핵심기술인 막증류 기술(MD)은 기존 역삼투압(RO) 방식 대비 에너지 소비를 30% 절감하고, 용수 회수율은 80% 이상으로 높여 지속 가능한 물 생산 기술로 주목받고 있다.

현재 ㈜투엔은 독자적인 막증류 기술 스케일업(Scale-up)에 성공했으며, 기술력을 인정받아 딥테크팁스(Deep-Tech TIPS) 프로그램에 선정되어 사업을 추진 중이다. 이를 통해 해수담수화 상용화를 비롯해 이차전지 공정 폐수 및 방사능 폐수 처리 등 다양한 분야로 응용 범위를 확장하고 있다.

Gyeongbuk Technopark (President Ha In-seong) announced on the 4th that its resident company, Tuen (CEO Kim Jae-hoon), won the "Change Maker Award" at the global investor relations (IR) competition held at the 9th KIC DC Tech Summit in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA, from October 24th to 25th.

This award is a significant achievement, officially recognizing the innovation and global market potential of Tuen's proprietary water treatment technology, based on membrane distillation (MD) technology, on the international stage.

Founded in 2021, Tuen is an eco-friendly technology company that will be located in the Gyeongbuk Technopark Advanced Medical Convergence Textile Center's factory building in 2023. Based on core water treatment technologies such as oil-water separation, wastewater purification, and water electrolysis, TUEN is developing eco-friendly energy solutions for various industrial sites.

In particular, TUEN is strengthening its technological collaboration by signing agreements with global companies in the US, Japan, and Singapore. Furthermore, TUEN is demonstrating its competitiveness in overseas markets, including exporting oil-water separators to a Japanese company.

TUEN's core technology, membrane distillation (MD), is attracting attention as a sustainable water production technology, reducing energy consumption by 30% compared to conventional reverse osmosis (RO) and increasing water recovery rates by over 80%.

Currently, TUEN has successfully scaled up its proprietary membrane distillation technology and, in recognition of its technological prowess, has been selected for the Deep-Tech TIPS program. Through this, TUEN is expanding its application scope to diverse fields, including the commercialization of seawater desalination, secondary battery process wastewater treatment, and radioactive wastewater treatment.
