【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=(재)경북테크노파크(원장 하인성,이하 경북TP)는 지난달 29일 대만 리젠트 타이페이 호텔에서 개최한 ‘2024 경북 게임기업 해외 수출상담회’가 성황리에 막을 내렸다고 4일 밝혔다.

이번 수출상담회는 경북TP가 주관하고, 경상북도, 경산시가 주최, 한국콘텐츠진흥원, (사)경북게임콘텐츠산업협회, 경일대학교 LINC3.0사업단이 후원으로 진행됐다.

이번 수출상담회는 경북지역 게임기업의 글로벌 시장 진출 지원 및 게임기업과 해외 바이어, 투자자 간의 상호협력 관계를 구축하기 위해 개최됐으며, 오전 9시부터 시작하여 오후 6시 이후까지 이어지는 등 현지에서 큰 호응을 얻었다.

경북을 대표하는 게임기업 9개社와 대만 바이어 23개社가 참가했으며, 기업당 평균 9개社가 매칭되어 총 83건의 상담이 이루어졌다.

수출상담회 결과, 투자상담 금액은 약 226.5억원에 달했으며 총 2개社(조이랩, 해피스케치)가 대만 현지기업과 MOU를 체결했다. 특히, 스테디터틀은 대만 Straight Creative社와 게임 라이센스 20억원을 계약하는 둥 좋은 성과를 도출했다.

특히, 이번 수출상담회에 경일대 LINC3.0사업단이 참여하여 지역 콘텐츠 개발인력의 글로벌 경쟁력 강화 및 해외 진출을 위해 현지기업의 수요, 인턴십, 인재채용 및 육성 등 글로벌 산학협력 모델이 논의된 점이 뜻깊었다.

이틀째인 30일에는 대만거래소 상장기업인 HappyTuk과 대만콘텐츠진흥원을 방문하여 대만 진출 시 고려 사항, 대만게임 산업의 흐름, 향후 상호협력 방안 등을 논의했다.

한편, 경북테크노파크는 문체부 ‘경북 지역기반 게임산업 육성사업(국비 13억, 도비 3.6억원, 시비 8.4억원)’의 일환으로 경북도내 게임기업의 육성을 위한 단계별 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.

또 게임 기획, 창업, 런칭제작지원, 글로벌 진출을 위한 마케팅 지원, 인력양성 및 동아리 활동지원, 수출 및 투자상담회 등 다양한 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.

이러한 노력에 힘입어 2023년도 사업추진 평가결과, 최우수등급 획득했다. 특히, 올해에는 게임 기업의 해외 진출에 집중한 결과, 경북테크노파크 지원기업(2023 제작지원, 2024 마케팅지원)인 MSG스퀘어의 ‘고양이 오마카세’가 구글플레이 인기순위 미국 1위, 대만 1위, 일본 3위를 달성하였으며, 제16회 Unity Awards에서 한국업체로 유일하게 수상하는 글로벌 성과를 도출했다.

Gyeongbuk TP, Taiwan Export Consultation Meeting Success… Great Response

This export consultation meeting was held to support the entry of Gyeongbuk region game companies into the global market and to establish mutually cooperative relationships between game companies, overseas buyers, and investors. It started at 9 AM and continued until after 6 PM, receiving a great response from the locals.

Nine representative game companies from Gyeongbuk and 23 Taiwanese buyers participated, and an average of 9 companies were matched per company, resulting in a total of 83 consultations.

As a result of the export consultation meeting, the investment consultation amount was approximately 22.65 billion won, and a total of 2 companies (Joy Lab, Happy Sketch) signed MOUs with local Taiwanese companies. In particular, Steady Turtle achieved good results, such as signing a game license contract worth 2 billion won with Taiwanese Straight Creative.

In particular, it was meaningful that Kyungil University's LINC3.0 business unit participated in this export consultation meeting, discussing global industry-academia cooperation models such as local companies' demand, internships, talent recruitment, and training to strengthen the global competitiveness of local content development personnel and advance overseas.

On the second day, the 30th, they visited HappyTuk, a company listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, and the Taiwan Creative Content Agency to discuss considerations for advancing into Taiwan, trends in the Taiwanese game industry, and future mutual cooperation plans.

Meanwhile, Gyeongbuk Techno Park is operating a step-by-step program to foster game companies in Gyeongbuk Province as part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's 'Gyeongbuk Regional Game Industry Promotion Project (national budget 1.3 billion won, provincial budget 3.6 billion won, city budget 8.4 billion won)'.

It also operates various programs such as game planning, startup, launch production support, marketing support for global expansion, human resource development and club activity support, and export and investment consultation meetings.

Thanks to these efforts, it received the highest grade in the 2023 business promotion evaluation. In particular, as a result of focusing on overseas expansion of game companies this year, MSG Square's 'Cat Omakase', a Gyeongbuk Techno Park-supported company (2023 production support, 2024 marketing support), achieved 1st place in Google Play popularity rankings in the US, 1st place in Taiwan, and 3rd place in Japan, and achieved global success by being the only Korean company to win an award at the 16th Unity Awards.
