이번에 발표된 대구시장과 대구시교육감 선거비용제한액은 각각 약 12억8천200만 원으로, 직전 지방선거에 비해 약 2천900만 원 늘어난 것으로 나타났다. 대구 지역 인구가 감소했음에도 불구하고 산정 비율이 상향 적용되면서 제한액이 소폭 증가했다.

대구시선관위에 따르면 기초자치단체장 선거비용제한액은 평균 약 1억9천600만 원으로 집계됐다. 구·군별로 보면 달서구청장의 선거비용제한액이 약 2억6천800만 원으로 가장 높았고, 군위군수는 약 1억2천300만 원으로 가장 낮은 수준을 기록했다.

대구시의원 선거비용제한액은 비례대표가 약 1억8천만 원, 지역구는 평균 약 5천800만 원으로 정해졌으며 기초의원은 비례대표가 평균 약 6천100만 원, 지역구가 평균 약 4천900만 원이다.

반면, 예비후보자가 사용한 비용이나 통상적인 거래가격을 정당한 이유 없이 초과한 비용, 회계보고서에 누락되거나 허위로 보고된 비용 등은 보전 대상에서 제외된다.

한편, 대구시선관위는 이번 선거부터 비용 보전 심사를 한층 강화한다는 방침이다. 영수증과 계약서 외에도 실제 사용을 확인할 수 있는 사진 등 객관적인 자료 제출을 요구하고, 이를 제출하지 않으면 해당 비용은 보전하지 않기로 했다.

대구시선관위 관계자는 “증빙 누락이나 부적정 지출이 발생하지 않도록 후보자와 회계책임자 모두 꼼꼼히 챙길 필요가 있다”고 강조했다.
