【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=조국혁신당 대구시당이 선거 유세 중 벌어진 후보 폭행 사건을 두고 "폭력이나 색깔론으로는 대구의 미래를 바꿀 수 없다"며 자성의 목소리를 정치권 전체에 촉구했다.

조국혁신당 대구시당은 27일 논평을 내고 신효철 더불어민주당 동구청장 예비후보 피습 사건에 대해 깊은 우려를 표했다. 

시당은 "빠른 쾌유를 기원하며, 남은 선거 기간 건강한 모습으로 유권자 앞에 서길 바란다"고 밝혔다.

또 이번 사건을 민주주의 훼손 사례로 규정했다. 시당은 "선거는 서로 다른 생각과 의견이 자유롭게 경쟁하는 민주주의의 꽃"이라며 "유권자들이 자유롭게 선택할 수 있을 때 선거의 의미가 완성된다"고 강조했다. 

이어 "이번 사건이 신속하게 수사되고, 선거 현장이 모든 후보에게 안전하게 보장돼야 한다"고 덧붙였다.

아울러 색깔론에 바탕을 둔 정치 공세에 대해서도 선을 그었다. 

조국혁신당 대구시당은 "대구 유권자들은 이제 이념 공방이 아니라 지역 발전을 이끌 비전과 실행력을 기준으로 후보를 판단할 것"이라며 정책 중심의 선거를 주문했다.

The chapter stated, "We wish for a speedy recovery and hope he will stand before voters in good health during the remaining election period."

They also characterized this incident as a case of undermining democracy. The chapter emphasized, "Elections are the flower of democracy where different thoughts and opinions compete freely," adding, "The meaning of an election is complete when voters can make free choices."

They further added, "This incident must be investigated swiftly, and the election site must be guaranteed safety for all candidates."

In addition, they drew a line against political attacks based on ideological smear campaigns. The Daegu City Chapter of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party called for a policy-centered election, stating, "Daegu voters will now judge candidates based on their vision and ability to execute to lead regional development, rather than ideological disputes."
