이들은 “김장호 구미시장의 이 같은 행태는 비상계엄의 위헌, 위법성을 부정하는 것은 아닌가 하는 의구심이 들 정도”라고 꼬집었다.
그러면서 “문화예술 활동은 표현의 자유와 직결되며, 민주주의 사회에서는 사회적 기본권으로서 보호되어야 한다”며 “이번 사건은 단순한 공연 취소의 문제가 아니라, 표현의 자유와 민주주의의 가치를 훼손하려는 심각한 도전”이라고 강조햇다.
아울러 조국혁신당 대구시당은 “공연 취소의 명확한 이유를 시민들에게 상세히 밝히고, 앞으로 또다시 이런 일이 발생하지 않도록 문화예술 행사의 취소나 제한에 있어 투명하고 공정한 절차를 마련하라”고 덧붙였다.
