16일 경상북도에 따르면 이번에 선정된 청년마을은 경주 가자미마을(감포읍), 의성 로컬러닝랩:나만의-성(의성읍), 예천 생텀마을(효자면)이다.

전국 133개소가 신청해 11 대 1의 엄청난 경쟁률 속에서 서면․현지․발표 등 험난한 심사를 뚫고 최종 선정됐다.

청년마을 만들기 사업은 행정안전부가 지방 청년들의 유출 방지와 도시 청년들의 지역 정착을 지원해 인구감소 지역에 활력을 불어넣기 위해 추진하고 있다.

경북도는 2020년 문경 달빛탐사대(문경읍)와 2021년 상주 이인삼각(서성동 등), 영덕 뚜벅이마을(영해읍)이 선정돼 국비사업을 마무리했으며, 후속으로‘청년자립마을 활성화 지원 사업’을 통해 청년유입 프로그램을 이어가고 있다.

경북도는 이번 3개소의 신규마을 선정으로 전국에서 가장 많은 6개소의 청년마을을 조성하게 됐다.

올해 선정된 마을에는 청년활동 공간 조성 및 청년체험 프로그램 운영 등 개소 당 3년간 국비 6억원(매년 2억원) 총 18억원을 지원한다.

이번에 선정된 경주 가자미마을은 감포의 대표자원인 가자미를 매개로 식당, 영화제작, 마을여행 등 리얼 버라이어티 예능 컨셉의 정착 프로그램을 제공할 예정이다.

의성 로컬러닝랩:나만의-성은 사회문제에 관심 있는 청년들이 주민의 불편함을 발견하고 해결방안을 제시하며, 지역 상품 개발과 크리에이티브 활동을 통해 자신의 삶을 구축한다는 구상이다.

이를 통해 경북의‘이웃사촌시범마을’의 성과를 경험으로 가시적인 청년인구 유입을 촉진할 계획이다.

예천 생텀마을은 수려한 자연경관을 바탕으로 힐링·명상 등을 통해 청년을 살리는 ‘힐링 청년마을’이라는 독특한 구상으로, 청년주도의 웰니스 문화산업을 선도할 예정이다.

하대성 경북도 경제부지사는 “또래 청년들이 모여 있고, 즐겁고 자유로운 분위기의 마을이 많이 조성되면 청년 유입도 자연스럽게 이루어질 수 있다”며, “이번 공모 결과는 경북 청년들이 경쟁력과 역량을 갖추고 있다는 것을 의미하며, 청년이 주도적으로 사업을 기획․추진할 수 있도록 도는 든든한 조력자가 되겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 경북도는 2020년부터 문경, 상주, 영덕에서 추진한 청년마을 에는 지금까지 39명(문경 18, 상주 11, 영덕 10)의 새로운 청년들이 둥지를 틀고 경북인으로 살아가고 있다.

앞으로도 지역에 유입된 청년들이 안정적으로 정착할 수 있도록 다각적인 취창업 지원 대책을 수립·지원하고, 네트워크를 활성화해 청년들의 다양한 목소리를 정책에 반영하는 등 정책을 확장하고 고도화 해 나갈 방침이다.

133 places across the country applied, and the final selection was made through rigorous screening, including written, local, and presentation, in a tremendous 11 to 1 competition.

The Youth Village Project is being promoted by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security to revitalize areas with declining populations by preventing the outflow of local youth and supporting urban young people to settle in the area.

In Gyeongbuk Province, Mungyeong Moonlight Exploration Team (Mungyeong-eup) in 2020, Sangju Yiin Samgak (Seoseong-dong, etc.) in 2021, and Yeongdeok Tubokgi Village (Yeonghae-eup) were selected and completed the state-funded project. We are continuing our youth immigration program.

With the selection of three new villages this time, Gyeongsangbuk-do has created six youth villages, the largest number in the country.

Through this, we plan to promote a visible influx of young people through experience of the achievements of the ‘Neighborhood Demonstration Village’ in Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Yecheon Saengtum Village is expected to lead the youth-led wellness culture industry with a unique concept of a ‘Healing Youth Village’ that saves young people through healing and meditation based on the beautiful natural scenery.

Ha Dae-seong, Deputy Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, said, “If young people of the same age are gathered and a lot of villages with a pleasant and free atmosphere are created, the influx of young people can occur naturally. I will become a strong supporter who helps young people to plan and carry out projects in the lead.”

Meanwhile, in the youth villages promoted by Mungyeong, Sangju, and Yeongdeok in Gyeongbuk Province from 2020, 39 new young people (18 Mungyeong, 11 Sangju, 10 Yeongdeok) have built their nests and are living as Gyeongbuk residents.
