【브레이크뉴스 대구 】이성현 기자=대구 동구 지역의 한 우사에서 올해 처음으로 일본 뇌염 바이러스가 검출됐다. 

대구시 보건환경연구원은 지난 8월 1일 동구 소재 우사에서 채집된 모기 중 빨간 집모기에서 일본뇌염 바이러스 유전자가 검출됐다며 주의를 당부했다.

연구원은 일본뇌염 매개모기 감시를 위해 4월부터 10월까지 주 2회 단위로 모기를 채집해 종별 분포조사와 일본뇌염을 비롯한 5종의 모기 매개 병원체를 조사해 왔다.

이 중 지난 8월 1일 채집된 모기 일부에서 주된 일본뇌염 매개모기인 작은빨간집모기가 아닌 빨간집모기에서 일본뇌염바이러스가 검출됐다고 밝혔다.

빨간집모기는 우리나라의 가정집에 활동하는 모기의 대부분을 차지하는 종으로 일본뇌염, 웨스트나일열을 전파할 수 있는 종으로 알려져 있다.

올해 부산지역에서 일본뇌염 매개모기인 작은빨간집모기가 500마리 이상이면서 전체 채집모기의 50% 이상(90.4%)으로 확인됨에 따라 질병관리청에서는 지난 7월 23일 일본뇌염 경보를 발령했다.

일본뇌염은 일본뇌염바이러스를 가진 모기에 물렸을 경우, 99% 이상은 무증상 또는 열을 동반하는 가벼운 증상을 보이지만 일부 감염자에게서는 급성 신경계 증상을 일으키기도 한다. 일단 뇌염에 걸리면 사망률이 높아 회복되더라도 신경계 합병증 발생이 높은 것으로 알려져 있다. 

고복실 대구시 보건환경연구원장은 “모기는 종에 따라 일본뇌염 외에도 말라리아 등의 여러 감염병을 매개할 수 있으므로 모기 회피 및 방제 요령을 숙지해 모기에 물리지 않도록 주의할 것”을 당부했다.

In Busan this year, there were more than 500 Japanese encephalitis-carrying mosquitoes, and more than 50% (90.4%) of the total mosquitoes were confirmed, so the KCDC issued a Japanese encephalitis alert on July 23rd.

Japanese encephalitis is asymptomatic or mild symptoms accompanied by fever in more than 99% of cases when bitten by a mosquito carrying the Japanese encephalitis virus, but acute nervous system symptoms can occur in some infected people. It is known that once encephalitis occurs, the mortality rate is high, and even if the patient recovers, the occurrence of neurological complications is high.

Ko Bok-sil, head of the Daegu City Health and Environment Research Institute, said, "Mosquitoes can transmit various infectious diseases, such as malaria, in addition to Japanese encephalitis, depending on the species.
