【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=이강덕 포항시장은 5일 오전 태풍으로 인한 침수피해가 특히 심각했던 냉천하류에 위치한포항국가산단 청림지구 내 OCI(주)와 포항철강산업단지 중 가장 침수피해가컸던1단지 내 ㈜TCC스틸 피해현장을 방문해애로사항을 청취하고 지원방안을 논의했다.

포항시에 따르면 이날 이들 두 업체 모두 수백 년 만에 내린 기록적인 강우로 인해 기계 및 전기설비, 생산제품, 사무실 집기 비품 등이 침수되는 등 큰 피해가 발생했다고 밝혔다.
이 시장은 피해 기업체의 현장을 면밀히 살피며 애로사항을 청취했고, 공장 정상 가동화를 위한 실질적 지원방안에 대해 논의했다.
이번 태풍으로 국가재난관리시스템(NDMS)에 확정된 기업피해는 413건,1조 348억 원에 이르며 이는 직접적인 피해만 확정된 수치이다. 영업 손실 등간접적 피해까지 포함하면 전체 피해액은 직접 피해액의 4~5배가 넘을 것으로예상되고 있다.
또한, 포스코의 조업이 중단되고 완전한 정상화까지 상당한 시일이 소요될 것으로 예상됨에 따라 철강산업 관련 중소기업들의 피해는 더욱 늘어날 것으로보인다.
이강덕 포항시장은 “이번 태풍으로 재해에 취약한 중소기업들이 큰 피해를입었는데, 응급복구는 어느 정도 마무리 되고 있지만 빠른 정상화를 위한지원이 피해규모에 비해 턱없이 부족해 어려움을 겪고 있는 상황이다”며, “산업위기 선제대응지역 지정 등 관련 대책이 신속하게 이뤄질 수 있도록 모든 행정력을집중해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
