【브레이크뉴스 경주】이성현 기자=한국수력원자력(사장 황주호, 이하 한수원)은 자립준비청년 지원사업인 ‘열여덟 혼자서기’의 일환으로 경주시 소재 아동양육시설 경주성애원에 자립체험관 조성을 지원하고 10일 오픈식을 가졌다고 밝혔다

자립체험관은 양육시설로부터의 독립을 앞둔 아동이 2~5일 동안 혼자 머무르며 직접 장을 보고, 집안일을 하는 등 자립생활을 준비할 수 있도록 실제 자립생활 환경과 유사하게 조성한 원룸형 공간이다.

한수원은 자립을 준비하는 청년 지원에 집중하는 다른 지원사업들과 달리 ‘열여덟 혼자서기’ 사업을 통해 시설에 보호중인 아동들도 선제적으로 자립을 준비할 수 있도록 폭넓게 지원하고 있다.

자립지원금과 장학금 등 경제적 지원은 물론, 진로탐색 및 자립역량 강화를 위한 교육과 인턴십을 제공하고 있으며, 기초학습지원, 직업체험 교육 등의 맞춤형 교육도 지원한다. 특히, 자립준비청년의 진로 선택에 도움이 되도록 희망분야 맞춤형 인턴십을 해마다 운영하고 있다.

올 겨울 인턴십에서는 대상연령을 확대해 예비 고3부터 대학생까지 총 17명의 자립준비청년이 농업기술센터, 호텔, 미술관 등에서 겨울방학동안 직업체험을 하며 자립을 준비할 예정이다.

전대욱 한수원 기획본부장은 “자립준비청년과 아동이 사회의 어엿한 구성원으로 독립할 수 있도록 도움을 줄 수 있어 기쁘다”며, “앞으로도 한수원은 다양한 사회공헌 사업을 통해 어려운 이웃들과 함께하고 국민의 삶의 질 향상에 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.

 KHNP, self-reliance support for young people preparing for self-reliance

   The self-reliance experience hall is a studio-type space created similar to the actual independent living environment so that children who are about to become independent from foster care facilities can stay alone for 2 to 5 days and prepare for independent living, such as shopping and doing housework.

   Unlike other support projects that focus on supporting young people preparing for self-reliance, KHNP is providing a wide range of support to preemptively prepare for self-reliance through the “18-year-old Alone” project.

In addition to economic support such as self-reliance subsidies and scholarships, it provides education and internships to explore career paths and strengthen self-reliance capabilities, as well as customized education such as basic learning support and job experience education. In particular, in order to help young people preparing for self-reliance in choosing their career paths, we operate customized internships every year in the fields of interest.

  In this winter internship, a total of 17 self-reliant young people, from preparatory high school seniors to university students, will expand their target age and prepare for self-reliance by experiencing work during winter vacation at agricultural technology centers, hotels, and art galleries.
