조상 땅 찾기 서비스는 본인 소유의 토지, 불의의 사고로 인한 사망 등으로 조상 소유의 토지를 파악할 수 없는 경우 간단한 확인을 거쳐 토지 소유 현황을 알려준다.

대구시는 조상 땅 찾기 서비스를 통해 지난해 24,740명의 신청을 받아 8,177명의 토지 27,768필지의 정보를 제공해 개인의 재산권 행사와 보호에 기여했다.

조상 땅 찾기 신청은 가까운 시·군·구청 지적업무 담당 부서에 방문해 본인 또는 상속인임을 증명하는 서류(2008년 1월 1일 이전 사망자는 제적등본, 이후 사망자는 사망 일자가 기재된 기본증명서와 신청자의 가족관계증명서)를 첨부하여 신청하고, 대리인이 신청하는 경우에는 위임장과 위임인(상속인) 신분증 사본을 첨부해 신청하면 된다.
