【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=대구시 상수도사업본부는 수돗물 안전성 확보를 위해 올해 자체 수질 검사 항목을 확대했다고 26일 밝혔다.
수돗물 수질검사 320개 항목은 세계보건기구(WHO)가 권장하는 168개 항목보다 약 2배, 법정 ‘먹는 물 수질기준’ 60개보다 5배 이상 많은 수준으로, 추가한 항목은 마이크로시스틴-LY 등 조류독소 3개, 잔류농약 물질 1개, 산업용 유해 유기물 1개 총 5개이다.
현재 본부는 조류독소와 관련해 세계보건기구(WHO)에서 보고된 실제 환경에서 발견되는 마이크로시스틴 중 대부분을 차지하는 마이크로시스틴-LR, -RR, -YR 3종, 마이크로시스틴-LA, 노둘라린, 아나톡신-a, 삭시톡신까지 총 7종의 조류독소를 검사하고 있다.
특히 하절기 평균기온 상승과 강수량 감소로 낙동강에 남조류가 대량 번식함에 따라 발생할 우려가 있는 마이크로시스틴-LY, -LF, 실린드로스퍼몹신 등에 대해 선제적으로 검사하고, 검사 횟수도 조류경보제 발령 단계(관심, 경계, 대발생)에 따라 주 1~3회 실시하던 검사를 주 2회~매일 검사로 강화할 계획이다.
수질연구소에서는 지난해 기체크로마토그래프질량분석기 2대를 구입한데 이어 올해 1대를 추가 구입해 휘발성유기화합물, 알데히드류 등의 미량유해 물질에 대해서도 철저히 감시할 예정이다.
