상주시 직원들은 성금 기탁 외에도 실질적인 피해 지원 활동에도 적극 참여했다. 산불 발생 직후, 상주시는 인근 지자체와 협력하여 산림헬기 및 진화차량 23대, 산불진화대 200여 명을 지원하며 피해 지역 산불 진화에 나섰다. 현재는 피해 현장에 직원을 파견해 피해조사 및 복구 지원 업무를 계속하고 있다.
