【브레이크뉴스 구미】이성현 기자=국립금오공과대학교(총장 김상호)는 20일 대학 본관 대강당에서 ‘2025학년도 전기 학위수여식’을 열고 총 1,092명의 졸업생을 배출했다.
이번 학위수여 인원은 학사 910명, 석사 154명, 박사 28명 등이다. 행사에는 김상호 총장을 비롯한 보직자와 학위수여 대표 학생 및 가족이 참석했다. 또한 김장호 구미시 시장, 곽현근 발전후원회장, 장세광 총동창회장, 원종욱 대학원총동창회장, 허백영 최고경영자과정 총동창회장 등이 자리해 졸업생들의 앞날을 축하했다. 이철우 경상북도 지사와 구자근(구미갑)·강명구(구미을) 국회의원은 축전을 통해 축하의 뜻을 전했다.
학위수여식은 김상호 총장의 식사를 시작으로 △내빈 축사 △학사 졸업증서 수여 △석·박사 학위기 수여 △졸업생 대표 인사 △졸업성적우수상 △특별·외부포상(국회의원 표창 등) △우수논문상·졸업논문상·졸업특별상 수여 △교가 제창 순으로 진행됐다.
졸업생 대표로 인사를 전한 이재영(전자공학부) 학생은 “영예로운 졸업을 맞이할 수 있도록 도와주신 부모님과 교수님, 대학 구성원들께 감사드린다”며 “사회라는 새로운 무대에서 마주할 도전 속에서도 대학에서의 배움을 바탕으로 사회에 기여하는 자랑스러운 금오인이 되겠다”고 말했다.
김상호 총장은 “새로운 여정을 시작하는 졸업생들에게 진심으로 축하와 응원을 보낸다”며 “대학에서 쌓은 지식과 경험을 토대로 각자의 분야에서 세계로 뻗어가는 인재로 성장하길 바란다”고 격려했다. 이어 “국립금오공과대학교 역시 졸업생들이 자랑스러워할 수 있는 모교로 남기 위해 끊임없이 도전하고 발전해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Lee Jae-young (Department of Electronic Engineering), who delivered the commencement address on behalf of the graduating class, said, "I would like to thank my parents, professors, and the entire university community for helping me achieve this honorable graduation." He added, "Even as I face the challenges of this new stage in society, I will become a proud Geumoh alumnus who contributes to society based on what I have learned at the university."
President Kim Sang-ho offered his heartfelt congratulations and encouragement, saying, "I sincerely congratulate and encourage the graduates as they embark on their new journeys. I hope you will leverage the knowledge and experience you have gained at the university to grow into global leaders in your respective fields." He continued, “Kumoh National Institute of Technology will also continue to challenge and develop itself to remain an alma mater that its graduates can be proud of.”
