의성군에 따르면 단밀면 도안로 702에 위치한 ‘단밀 숲속야영장’은 경상북도 공립 최초의 숲속 야영장으로, 풍부한 녹지 환경 속에 조성된 산림 휴양형 캠핑 시설이다.
야영장은 총 23면 규모로 자동차야영장 7면, 일반야영장 4면, 가족야영장 8면, 스카이야영장 4면 등 다양한 형태의 캠핑 공간을 갖추고 있다. 또한 관리사무소 1동과 복합위생시설 3동 등 편의시설도 마련돼 이용객 편의를 높였다.
특히 숲속 데크 사이트와 산책로, 휴식 공간 등 자연과 어우러진 쾌적한 환경을 갖춰 가족 단위 방문객과 캠핑 애호가들에게 휴식과 힐링을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.
군은 지난달 27일부터 의성군 통합예약시스템을 통해 사전 예약 접수를 시작했으며, 봄철 캠핑 수요 증가에 대비해 체계적인 운영에 들어갈 계획이다.
김주수 의성군수는 “단밀 숲속야영장은 자연 속에서 여유를 즐길 수 있는 힐링 공간”이라며 “방문객들이 안전하고 편안하게 이용할 수 있도록 시설 관리와 운영에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 의성군은 앞으로 지역 관광자원과 연계한 다양한 프로그램을 확대해 단밀 숲속야영장을 지역을 대표하는 자연 휴양 명소로 육성해 나갈 방침이다.
