【브레이크뉴스 의성】이성현 기자=의성군(군수 김주수)은 오는 2월 4일부터 전 국민 대중교통비 환급 서비스인 ‘K-패스’ 사업을 본격 시행한다고 밝혔다.

그동안 의성군은 군내 버스 무료 승차 정책을 통해 주민들의 이동권을 보장해 왔으나, 군민들이 타 시·도를 방문하거나 광역버스를 이용할 경우 발생하는 교통비 부담을 줄이기 위해 K-패스 사업을 도입했다.

K-패스는 월 15회 이상 버스, 지하철, 광역버스 등 대중교통을 정기적으로 이용할 경우, 이용 금액의 일정 비율을 다음 달 현금 또는 마일리지로 환급해 주는 제도다.

환급 비율은 일반인 20%, 만 19~34세 청년과 65세 이상 어르신, 2자녀 가구는 30%, 3자녀 이상 가구는 50%로 구분된다. 특히 저소득층은 최대 53%까지 환급받을 수 있어, 생계형 이동이 잦은 군민들의 교통비 부담이 크게 완화될 것으로 기대된다.

이번 K-패스 사업에는 기존 제도를 확대한 ‘모두의 카드’ 기능도 함께 적용된다. 월 대중교통 이용 금액이 일정 기준을 초과할 경우 초과분 전액을 환급해 주는 ‘정액 패스’ 기능이 자동으로 적용돼, 장거리 통근자와 대학생 등 교통비 지출이 많은 이용자들도 전국 어디서나 실질적인 혜택을 누릴 수 있다.

K-패스 혜택을 받기 위해서는 전용 카드를 발급받은 후 K-패스 누리집 또는 모바일 애플리케이션에서 회원가입을 해야 한다. 전용 카드는 시중 은행과 신용카드사, 교통카드 업체를 통해 발급 가능하며, 회원가입 시 주소지가 ‘의성군’으로 등록돼 있어야 군민 대상 우대 혜택을 받을 수 있다.

김주수 의성군수는 “이번 K-패스 도입은 의성군의 버스 무료화 정책과 상호 보완적으로 작용해 군민들이 지역 안팎 어디를 이동하더라도 교통비 걱정 없는 환경을 만드는 데 목적이 있다”며 “앞으로도 군민이 체감할 수 있는 생활밀착형 교통 정책을 지속적으로 추진하겠다”고 말했다.
