【브레이크뉴스 의성】이성현 기자=의성군(군수 김주수)은 기후변화로 인한 건조한 날씨가 지속되며 산불 위험이 높아짐에 따라 오는 1월 20일부터 5월 15일까지를 ‘봄철 산불 조심 기간’으로 정하고, 산불 방지를 위한 대응체제에 조기 돌입했다고 밝혔다.

군은 대응체제 가동에 앞서 산림재난대응단 인력을 선발하고, 산불 진화 장비 전반에 대한 사전 점검을 완료했으며, 각 읍·면을 대상으로 산불 예방 및 대응 요령에 대한 점검도 병행했다.

특히 산불 발생 시 신속한 초기 대응을 위해 산불 진화 헬기 운영 체계를 점검하고, 산불 무인 감시카메라를 상시 운영하는 등 단 한 건의 산불도 발생하지 않도록 예방 활동에 총력을 기울일 방침이다.

군에 따르면 산불 발생의 주요 원인은 입산자 취사 행위, 논·밭두렁 및 농산폐기물 불법 소각, 담뱃불 실화 등으로, 이 가운데 산림과 인접한 지역에서의 불법 소각 행위가 가장 큰 비중을 차지하는 것으로 분석됐다.

이에 따라 의성군 산불방지대책본부는 입산자에 의한 산불을 사전에 차단하기 위해 관내 전 산림에 대해 인화물질 휴대 금지 등 산불 예방 관련 금지 행위를 공고하고, 대형 산불 우려 지역에 대해서는 등산로 폐쇄 및 입산 통제 조치를 시행해 집중 관리할 계획이다.

또한 산불 발생의 주원인인 불법 소각을 근절하기 위해 산불감시원을 산불 취약 지역에 집중 배치해 감시 활동을 강화하고, 불법 소각 행위 적발 시 과태료 부과 등 강력한 행정 조치를 취할 방침이다.

이와 함께 군은 군민들의 산불 예방 경각심을 높이기 위해 홍보 활동을 강화하고, 주요 등산로 입구와 산불 취약 지역에 현수막을 설치하는 한편, 읍·면을 대상으로 산불 방지 교육도 실시할 예정이다.

김주수 의성군수는 “산불은 한순간의 부주의로 막대한 피해를 초래할 수 있지만, 예방은 군민 모두의 관심과 참여로 충분히 가능하다”며 “군민 한 분 한 분이 감시원이라는 마음으로 산불 예방에 적극 동참해 주시길 바란다”고 말했다.
