경산시(시장 조현일)는 지난 23일 경산교육지원청(교육장 정수권)과 ‘구 하양초등학교 화성분교 학교복합시설 건립’을 위한 실시협약을 체결하고 사업 추진에 나선다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 하양읍 환상리 일대 구 하양초등학교 화성분교 부지를 활용해 학생과 시민이 함께 이용할 수 있는 복합시설을 조성하는 것으로, 총사업비 275억 원이 투입된다. 시설에는 수영장과 헬스장, 다목적체육관, 메이커교육관, 북카페 등 체육·문화시설과 함께 늘봄교실, 유아 교육 체험센터 등 교육·체험 공간이 들어설 예정이다.
해당 사업은 2023년 교육부 공모사업에 선정된 이후 관련 행정절차를 거쳐 추진 기반을 마련했으며, 건축설계 공모를 통해 사업 구체화 단계에 들어섰다. 시는 2026년 2월 설계용역 착수를 시작으로 시설의 공간 구성과 운영 방향을 확정해 나갈 계획이다.
공사는 2026년 12월 착공해 2028년 2월 준공, 같은 해 상반기 개관을 목표로 진행된다. 시설이 완공되면 유아부터 성인까지 전 세대가 이용하는 지역 거점형 교육·문화·체육 공간으로 활용될 전망이다.
조현일 경산시장은 “학교복합시설은 교육과 생활 인프라를 동시에 확충하는 새로운 공공시설 모델”이라며 “설계 단계부터 안전성과 활용도를 충분히 반영해 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 시설로 조성하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 경산시는 해당 사업과 함께 지하주차장과 자기주도 학습공간 등을 포함한 경산중앙초등학교 학교복합시설 조성 사업도 병행 추진하고 있다.

Meanwhile, Gyeongsan City is also pursuing the construction of a school complex facility at Gyeongsan Jungang Elementary School in parallel with this project, which includes an underground parking lot and self-directed learning spaces.
