예술강사 지원사업이 단순 보조사업을 넘어 국가가 책임져야 할 공교육 정책임도 재차 강조됐다. 협의회는 “예술강사 사업은 지역의 문화예술 인재를 학교 교육과정과 연계하는 대표적 융합정책”이라며, 중앙정부 차원의 안정적 재원 확보와 책임 있는 사업 운영이 반드시 뒷받침돼야 한다고 주장했다.
실제 협의회는 △문화체육관광부 중심의 국고 재원 확보 △사업 운영 방식 전면 재설계 △부처 간 책임 명확화와 협력 체계 강화 등을 촉구했다. 강은희 회장은 “학교예술교육은 미래세대에 대한 국가 차원의 투자”라며, “교육의 공공성과 지속가능성을 훼손할 정책 전환에는 끝까지 대응할 것”이라고 말했다.
