영천시는 6일 경부고속도로 상에 조성 중인 서영천 하이패스IC 공사 현장을 방문해 주요 시설물 설치 상태와 마무리 공정 진행 상황을 확인하고, 개통 전 철저한 현장 관리를 당부했다.

서영천 하이패스IC는 영천시와 한국도로공사가 협약을 통해 경부고속도로 103km 지점(금호읍 오계리·대창면 병암리)에 조성 중인 사업이다. 지난 2022년 5월 착공해 현재 마무리 공정과 시험운행 준비가 진행되고 있으며, 오는 30일 개통을 앞두고 있다.

해당 IC는 지난 2월 고속국도 시설물 명칭위원회 심의를 거쳐 공식 명칭이 확정됐으며, 서울과 부산 양방향 진·출입이 가능하다. 이용 대상은 하이패스 단말기를 부착한 4.5톤 미만 차량으로 제한된다.
