이에 영천시는 행정공간정보시스템과 과세대장, 토지(임야)대장, 건축물대장 등 각종 공간정보와 속성자료를 연계·분석해 대상지를 추출하고, 과거 인·허가 정보를 토대로 지적공부를 체계적으로 정비할 계획이다.

이번 사업은 국토교통부 공모에 선정돼 추진되는 것으로, 오는 12월까지 총 5,000필지를 대상으로 진행된다. 국비 1,000만 원을 투입해 ▲대상지 추출(2~6월) ▲토지소유자 지목변경 신청 통보(7~8월) ▲지적공부 정리 및 결과 통지(9~12월) 순으로 단계별 추진될 예정이다.

시 관계자는 “이번 지목현실화 사업을 통해 지적공부와 실제 토지 이용 현황 간 불일치가 해소돼 시민 재산권 보호는 물론, 각종 인·허가 업무와 재산세 부과 등 행정업무의 정확성도 높아질 것으로 기대된다”며 “향후 토지정책 수립을 위한 기초자료로 활용해 보다 효율적인 토지관리가 이뤄질 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.
