이에 따라 포항시는 요양병원·요양시설의 만 65세 미만 종사자 및 입원(소)자를 대상으로 예방접종에 사용될 ‘아스트라제네카 백신’이 25일 보건소, 요양병원에 1차 배송을 완료하고, 오는 28일 2차 배송될 예정이다.

아스트라제네카 백신은 2회 접종이 필요하며, 1차 접종은 26일부터 다음 달 1일까지, 2차는 4월 23일부터 4월 26일에 걸쳐 진행된다.

의사가 근무하는 요양병원은 자체적으로 접종하고, 의사가 없는 요양시설 등은 시설별 계약된 촉탁의나 보건소의 방문접종팀이 방문해 접종한다는 방침이다.

이강덕 포항시장은 “백신 접종은 일상을 회복하는데 있어 첫걸음이 될 것”이라며 “시민들이 안심하고 접종을 받을 수 있도록 백신 수송과 보관, 접종, 그리고 이상 반응관리까지 모든 과정을 철저히 준비하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 포항시는 초저온 냉동고를 보유해 mRNA(메신저 리보핵산) 백신인 ‘화이자社 백신’ 접종이 가능한 접종센터를 오는 3월 중 포항체육관(실내체육관)에 설치해 운영할 예정이다.
