대구지하철노동조합은 24일 오전 10시 30분 대구교통공사 앞에서 기자회견을 열고 "대구교통공사가 추진하고 있는 고강도 구조조정과 3호선 운행관리원 민영화에 반대한다."고 밝혔다.

대구교통공사는 지난 13일 조직 개편을 통해 간부급 관리자를 10％ 이상 줄이고, 유사 기능 통합 및 지원 부서 인력 최소화를 통해 잉여 인력 57명을 확보한다는 계획을 밝혔다. 

또 3호선 운행관리요원(102명)의 용역 전환을 단계적으로 추진해 인건비를 절감하겠다는 내용도 발표했다.

단체는 "대구교통공사는 안전에 자만하며 3호선 열차의 안전을 담당하는 운행관리원 업무마저 민간에 팔아넘기겠다고 한다"며" 지금 해야 할 일은 청년들의 일자리를 빼앗아 민간의 배를 불릴 것이 아니라, 3호선 열차의 안전한 운전 공간부터 확보하는 것"이라고 지적했다.
