【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도는 30일 개막을 시작으로 경주화백컨벤션센터에서 한국원자력국민연대와 함께 원자력에 대한 이해 및 정보를 제공하는‘2022 대한민국 원자력 국민대전’을 1일까지 진행한다고 밝혔다.

행사 첫 날인 30일 오전 박상덕 서울대 원자력정책센터 수석연구원의 발제와 전문가 패널토론을 통해 원자력이 위험의 대상이 아니라 우리 생활에 필요하고 소중한 에너지라는 대국민 이해를 위해 국민공감 토크‘원자력과 에너지 무엇이든 물어보세요’를 진행했다.

이어 오후에는 탄소중립의 세계적 과제 해결과 에너지 안보를 위한 원자력의 필요성에 대한 정보제공을 위해 정범진 경희대 원자력공학과 교수의 기조강연과 전문과 패널토의를‘원자력 르네상스를 꿈꾸며’를 진행했다.

한편 1층 전시실에서는 원자력이 우리생활에 반드시 필요한 소중한 에너지라는 친밀감을 담은 원자력발전소 주변 자연환경을 그린 그림 전시회도 병행해 진행된다.

12월 1일에는 원자력 1세대 원로, 원자력 전문가, 원전기업 대표 등 40여명이 한수원 홍보관과 중저준위방폐장 시설투어를 실시할 예정이다.

이철우 경북도지사는 “원자력발전은 탄소발생이 적고 안정성이 뛰어난 기저전력으로 가장효율적인 에너지이다. 이번 원자력 국민대전이 객관적이고 과학적인 정보를 전달해 원자력에 대한 국민의 인식이 전환되는 계기가 되기를 바란다”고 밝혔다.
