7일 영주시에 따르면 이날 오전 9시 현재 영주시 북부지역 강설량은 0.5cm에서 1.0cm이며, 가장 많은 눈이 내린 곳은 봉현면(옥녀봉 고갯길)으로 1.0cm의 눈이 쌓였다.

이에 영주시는 시민불편 최소화를 위해 풍기, 봉현, 단산, 부석 지역 고갯길 및 간선도로, 이면도로 등 취약구간을 우선적으로 제설작업을 실시했다.

이번 제설작업에는 인력 27명을 비롯해 덤프트럭 6대, 굴삭기 1대, 1톤 트럭 3대, 염화칼슘(5ton)‧모래(60㎥)‧염수(18,000ℓ) 등 제설제가 투입됐다.

시는 도로 순찰을 강화해 외곽도로 노면 결빙 위험 지역은 추가로 염수액과 모래를 살포해 차량통행과 주민 불편을 최소화할 계획이다.

강성열 건설과장은 “충분한 제설 자재 확보와 항시 비상근무체계를 유지해 눈이 내리면 바로 치우는 제설작업으로 시민 불편을 최소화해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
