A씨는 2017년부터 올해 8월까지 약 5년 동안 중국산 한약재 6종 1.2톤과 호주산 냉동 염소고기 4.8톤을 사용하여 흑염소진액 26톤(8억 원 상당)을 제조한 후 원산지를 국내산으로 원산지를 속여 인터넷 통신판매 등을 통해 불특정 소비자에게 판매한 혐의를 받고 있다.

사람들의 눈에 잘 띄지 않은 곳에 간판 없는 사업장을 만들어 단속을 피해 왔고, 종업원으로 지인 1명만을 고용해서 가공 기계를 쉼 없이 가동하는 방법으로 많은 양을 지속적으로 생산하여 판매해 왔다.

경북 농관원은 단속된 이후에도 A씨가 또다시 외국산을 구매해 단속원까지 속이고자 하는 등 추가 범행을 지속해 재범의 위험성 등을 감안, 구속수사를 벌였다.

김동환 지원장은 "코로나19 상황 이후 보양식에 관심이 높아지면서 가짜 국내산 건강식품판매가 발생하고 있어 소비자의 주의가 필요하다"며 "국내 흑염소 사육 농가와 소비자의 피해를 막기 위해 원산지 단속을 강화할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
