【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자= 대구시는 도심 속 야외 스케이트장을 신천 대봉교 하류에 설치하고 27일 개장해 51일간 무료로 운영한다고 28일 밝혔다.

코로나19로 지난 2년간 스케이트장을 열지 못했으나 올해부터 시민들이 겨울을 제대로 즐길 수 있도록 할 예정이다.

신천 야외 스케이트장은 연령대별로 안전하게 이용할 수 있도록 스케이트장(1,620㎡)과 민속썰매장(675㎡)으로 구성돼 있으며 이외에도 매점, 휴게실 등 편의시설로 공간을 나누어 운영한다.

운영시간은 매일 오전 10시부터 오후 7시까지이며, 주말 및 공휴일의 경우 1시간을 연장한 오전 10시부터 오후 8시까지이다. 

개장일부터 선착순으로 선물을 증정하며 야간조명을 설치해 스케이트장을 찾는 시민들에게 즐거운 추억거리를 제공할 계획이다.

신천 야외 스케이트장은 도심에 위치해 별도의 주차 공간이 없는 만큼 대중교통(지하철 3호선 대봉교역, 버스 234, 304, 323, 509, 순환2-1)을 통해 이용 가능하다. 

홍준표 대구시장은 “코로나로 지친 시민들이 가족과 함께 도심 속 하천인 신천 야외 스케이트장에서 겨울을 즐길 수 있기를 바란다"며, "2024년에는 고정식 물놀이장과 스케이트장을 개장해 신천에서 시민들이 언제나 사계절 변화무쌍하게 이용할 수 있는 수변도시로 만들겠다”고 말했다.
