【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=대구시와 자율주행 전문 기업 ㈜소네트는 오는 2월부터 수성구 알파시티 일대에 자율주행 유상 운송 서비스를 선보인다고 25일 밝혔다.

자율주행 자동차를 활용한 여객의 유상 운송은 ‘자율주행자동차 상용화 촉진 및 지원에 관한 법률’에 따라 지정된 ‘자율주행 자동차 시범운행 지구’에서 허용된다. 

대구시에서는 2021년 12월 국토교통부로부터 수성 알파시티(2.2㎢)와 테크노폴리스 및 국가산단 일원(19.7㎢, 2.6km)에 대해 자율주행 자동차 시범운행 지구로 지정받았다.

대구 수성 알파시티 자율주행 자동차 유상 운송은 수성 알파시티 일대 순환형 노선을 시작으로 지역민과 의료지구 방문객에게 자율주행 자동차를 활용한 운송 서비스를 제공한다. 

서비스 형태는 셔틀버스형으로, 승합차량을 기반으로 제작된 자율주행차량이 평일 10시~17시 운행 시간 내 일정 간격으로 운행된다.

수성 알파시티 자율주행차량은 ㈜소네트 자율주행 모빌리티 서비스 플랫폼인 raxi로 이용할 수 있으며 구글 플레이스토어, 애플 앱스토어에서 ‘raxi’를 검색해 설치할 수 있다.

탑승 요금 2천 원이 발생하는 유상 운송 서비스이나, 서비스 개시 후 탑승 무료 이벤트를 진행해 보다 많은 이용객에게 자율주행 서비스를 선보일 계획이다.

대공원역~수성 알파시티 내부~대공원역으로 이어지는 약 6km 구간에서 서비스를 제공하며, 향후 대공원역을 기점으로 대구미술관, 대구스타디움 등 지역 내 주요 관광지를 잇는 노선을 확대해 일상 속에서 활용할 수 있는 이동 서비스로 자리매김할 방침이다.

특히 도시철도 2호선 대공원역을 중심으로 기존 대중교통과 자율주행을 이용한 운송 서비스가 이어질 수 있도록 노선을 구성하여 효용성을 높였다.

이승대 대구시 혁신성장실장은 “테크노폴리스에 이어 수성 알파시티에서도 자율주행 실증 서비스를 개시하여 자율주행 선도도시 대구가 되도록 앞장서겠다”고 밝혔다.
