경북도의회는 제12대 후반기 도의회 원 구성이 완료됨에 따라 8일 오전 10시 국립 영천호국원 방문으로 첫 일정을 시작했다.
이날 박성만 의장, 배진석 부의장, 최병준 부의장, 이춘우 운영위원장을 비롯한 각 상임위원장, 영천 지역구 의원 및 의회사무처 간부공무원 등 30여명은 헌화 및 분향, 호국영령과 순국선열에 대한 묵념 순으로 참배했다.
박성만 의장은 “불굴의 의지로 국가를 위해 산화하신 순국선열과 호국영령의 거룩한 희생과 헌신이 있었기에 오늘날의 풍요로운 대한민국이 있다”며 “선현들의 숭고한 정신을 이어받아, 도민에게 봉사를 다짐하고 도민의 행복을 최우선 과제로 삼아 더 나은 경북을 만들기 위해 제12대 후반기 도의회의 모든 역량을 집중하겠다”고 말했다.
