【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=주한 교황대사 조반니 가스파리 대주교(Archbishop Giovanni Gaspari)가 7일 대구가톨릭대(총장 성한기)를 공식 방문했다.

주한 교황대사 조반니 가스파리 대주교는 대구대교구 교구장 조환길 타대오 대주교, 총대리 장신호 주교, 교구비서실장 김현섭 신부와 함께 개교 110주년을 맞이한 대구가톨릭대의 오랜 역사적 가치와 교육 환경을 직접 확인했다.

이들은 학교 홍보와 교목 활동에 관한 영상을 시청하고 인성교육원장 김성래 신부의 프레젠테이션을 통해 대구가톨릭대의 교육과 성과에 대해 들었다. 

이후 도서관, 박물관 등을 둘러보며 대구가톨릭대의 교육 환경과 역사에 큰 관심을 보였다. 

성한기 총장은 “우리 대학의 건학이념을 바탕으로 오랜 역사와 교육 철학을 직접 소개할 수 있어 기쁘다”며 “이번 방문이 한국 가톨릭 교육의 미래를 논의하고 협력을 강화하는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다. 

가스파리 교황대사는 “대구가톨릭대의 역사적 깊이와 한국 내 최대 규모의 가톨릭계 종합대학으로서의 면모에 감명받았다”며 “앞으로도 한국 가톨릭 교육의 발전을 위해 함께 노력하겠다”고 전했다.
