남구보건소는 생애주기별로 설계된 맞춤형 비만 예방 프로그램을 통해 지역 건강 환경 조성에 기여해왔다. 중년층을 위한 '건강몸매 만들기', 직장인을 위한 '야간 운동교실' 등 다양한 신체활동 프로그램을 운영하며, 주민들이 일상 속에서 꾸준히 운동할 수 있는 기반을 마련했다.

아동 비만 예방 활동도 꾸준히 이어왔다. 초등학생을 대상으로 한 '건강한 돌봄놀이터'와 취약계층 아동을 위한 '아이돌 건강짱 프로그램'을 통해 아동과 청소년의 건강한 성장과 올바른 식습관 형성에 힘써왔다.

조재구 남구청장은 "비만 인구가 꾸준히 증가하면서 연령대별 맞춤형 비만 예방 프로그램에 대한 수요도 커지고 있다"며 "앞으로도 예방 중심의 건강정책을 강화해 건강한 지역사회를 만들어가겠다"고 밝혔다.
