【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구는 중동교에 지역 주민을 위한 휴식 공간을 마련했다고 3일 밝혔다.

구는 중동교 환경개선공사를 통해 경관조명, 벤치, 자전거거치대 등을 설치했다.

경관조명이 설치되어 밤에도 시민들이 안전하고 아름다운 환경 속에서 산책을 즐길 수 있게 됐다.

벤치는 산책하는 시민들이 편안히 휴식할 수 있는 공간뿐만 아니라 무더운 여름철 더위를 식히는 쉼터 역할을 할 예정이다.

자전거 거치대가 설치돼 쾌적하고 편리하게 자전거를 안전하게 거치할 수 있는 공간도 마련됐다.

조재구 남구청장은 "신천의 아름다운 야경은 물론 시민이 쾌적한 환경 속에서 산책과 여가를 즐길 수 있도록 하기 위해 이 공간을 조성했다"며 "공사를 계기로 신천이 더 큰 사랑을 받는 명소가 되길 기대한다"고 말했다.
