【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구경북인터넷기자협회가 18일 오전 대구 엑스코 323·324호에서 2025년 정기총회를 열었다. 협회는 지난 1년간의 활동을 돌아보고, 지역 인터넷 언론의 역할과 앞으로의 과제를 함께 논의하는 자리를 마련했다.

이날 총회에는 협회 회원과 함께 조재구 남구청장, 배광식 북구청장, 김대권 수성구청장, 이태훈 달서구청장, 홍성주 대구시 경제부시장, 김학홍 경북도 행정부지사 등 대구·경북 지역 주요 기관 및 자치단체 관계자 등 약 200여 명이 참석했다. 참석자들은 급변하는 미디어 환경 속에서 지역 언론의 공공성과 연대의 필요성에 대해 깊이 공감했다.

정기총회에서는 정관 개정, 신입 회원 승인, 회계 결산 보고 등 핵심 안건이 논의됐다. 협회는 조직 운영 전반을 점검하는 동시에 앞으로의 활동 방향을 조율하며 회원 간 결속을 다졌다. 공식 행사는 오전 11시부터 회장 인사말, 내빈 축사, 시상식 순으로 이어졌다.

강승탁 대구경북인터넷기자협회장은 인사말을 통해 “지역 인터넷 언론은 현장의 목소리를 누구보다 가까이에서 전달해온 매체”라며, “미디어 환경이 빠르게 변화하고 있지만 공공성과 책임이라는 본질을 잃지 않으면서, 회원 간 연대도 더욱 강화해야 한다”고 강조했다. 또한 협회의 중점 과제로 협력 확대와 콘텐츠 경쟁력 강화를 꼽았다.

김정기 대구시장 권한대행 행정부시장은 축사에서 대구의 성장 과정에서 지역 인터넷 언론이 담당해온 역할을 언급하며, 정확하고 균형 있는 보도가 중요하다고 짚었다. 그는 “도시의 변화와 정책을 시민에게 전달하는 과정에서 지역 언론의 책임이 한층 무거워지고 있다”며, 비판적 감시와 심층 분석의 필요성을 강조했다.

이철우 경북도지사도 기후위기 대응 등 경북이 겪고 있는 현안을 언급하며, 현장에서 발로 뛴 지역 언론인들의 노고에 감사를 표했다. 이어 “대구경북인터넷기자협회가 도민의 눈과 귀가 되어 지역 사회를 이어주는 역할을 계속해주길 바란다”고 당부했다.

이날 행사에서는 지역사회 발전에 기여한 기관과 인물을 대상으로 시상식도 진행됐다. 우수행정상은 대구 달성군과 수성구, 경북 의성군·청송군·경산시에 돌아갔다. 우수의원상은 대구시의회 김태우·박종필·류종우 의원, 경북도의회 권광택·최병근·도기운 의원이 각각 수상했다.

특별상은 대구도시개발공사와 최상현 조일고등학교장에게, 우수기자상은 장현준 양파TV 대표와 안승환 KNS뉴스통신 기자에게 수여됐다. 협회는 이번 시상을 계기로 언론의 시각에서 행정과 의정 활동을 평가하며, 지방자치의 투명성과 책임성을 높일 수 있기를 기대했다.

He emphasized, "While the media environment is rapidly changing, we must maintain our core values ​​of publicness and responsibility, while further strengthening solidarity among our members." He also highlighted expanding cooperation and enhancing content competitiveness as key priorities for the association.

Acting Daegu Mayor Kim Jeong-gi, Vice Mayor, highlighted the role local internet media has played in Daegu's growth in his congratulatory remarks and stressed the importance of accurate and balanced reporting. He emphasized the need for critical oversight and in-depth analysis, stating, "The responsibility of local media is becoming increasingly weighty in conveying the city's changes and policies to citizens."

Governor Lee Cheol-woo of Gyeongbuk Province also addressed pressing issues facing Gyeongbuk, including the response to the climate crisis, and expressed his gratitude for the hard work of local journalists on the ground. He continued, "I hope the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Internet Reporters Association will continue to serve as the eyes and ears of the residents of the province, connecting them to the local community."

The event also featured an awards ceremony honoring organizations and individuals who contributed to the development of the local community. The Excellence in Administration Award went to Dalseong County and Suseong District in Daegu, and Uiseong County, Cheongsong County, and Gyeongsan City in Gyeongbuk. The Excellence in Council Member Award went to Daegu City Council members Kim Tae-woo, Park Jong-pil, and Ryu Jong-woo, and Gyeongbuk Provincial Council members Kwon Gwang-taek, Choi Byeong-geun, and Do Gi-woon, respectively.

The Special Award went to Daegu Urban Development Corporation and Choil High School Principal Choi Sang-hyeon, while the Excellence in Journalism Award went to Yangpa TV CEO Jang Hyeon-jun and KNS News reporter Ahn Seung-hwan. The Association hoped that this awards ceremony would serve as an opportunity to evaluate administrative and legislative activities from a media perspective and enhance transparency and accountability in local autonomy.

Meanwhile, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Internet Journalists Association has served as a focal point, fostering communication and cooperation among local journalists since its founding in 2017.
