한국무역협회 통계에 따르면 2025년 성주군 수출액은 전년 대비 약 9% 증가한 11억 3,000만 달러(약 1조 7천억 원)로 집계됐다. 이는 경상북도 내 7위에 해당하는 수치로, 군 단위 지자체 가운데서는 1위를 차지하는 성과다.

품목별로는 기계·철강 및 관련 부품류가 가장 큰 비중을 차지했으며, 자동차 부품과 전자기기 등이 주요 수출 품목으로 뒤를 이었다. 산업 기반을 중심으로 한 수출 구조가 안정적으로 자리 잡았다는 평가다.

성주군은 지속적인 수출 성장세를 뒷받침하기 위해 수출 기반 강화를 위한 다양한 정책을 적극 추진해 왔다. 중소기업 운전자금 확대(2025년 군부 2위)를 비롯해 해외 물류비 지원, 수출 판로 개척 등 다각적인 지원을 통해 수출기업 경쟁력 제고에 힘써왔다.

특히 기존의 해외 바이어 미팅 중심 지원 방식에서 벗어나 시제품 제작, 수출 신용보험료 지원, 해외 시장조사, 마케팅·세일즈 비용 지원 등 기업 수요를 반영한 맞춤형 지원 체계로 전환한 점이 가시적인 수출 성과로 이어졌다는 분석이다.

이 같은 성과를 바탕으로 성주군은 지난해 열린 제62회 무역의 날에서 ‘경상북도 수출 유공 지자체’로 선정되며, 농업과 산업이 조화를 이루는 도농복합도시로서의 성장 가능성을 다시 한 번 입증했다.

성주군 관계자는 “수출액 11억 달러 돌파는 행정과 기업이 함께 만들어낸 값진 성과”라며 “글로벌 경기 둔화와 통상 환경의 불확실성 속에서도 기업 수요에 적극 대응하는 수출 지원을 더욱 확대해 지역 기업 성장을 지속적으로 뒷받침하겠다”고 밝혔다.

According to statistics from the Korea International Trade Association, Seongju County's exports in 2025 are projected to reach $1.13 billion (approximately KRW 1.7 trillion), a 9% increase from the previous year. This ranks Seongju County 7th in North Gyeongsang Province and 1st among county-level local governments.

Seongju County has actively pursued various policies to strengthen its export base to support continued export growth. In particular, the shift from the previous support method focused on overseas buyer meetings to a customized support system that reflects corporate needs, including support for prototype production, export credit insurance premiums, overseas market research, and marketing and sales expenses, has led to tangible export results.

Based on these achievements, Seongju County was selected as the "Gyeongsangbuk-do Export Merit Local Government" at the 62nd Trade Day last year, once again demonstrating its potential as a multi-urban, rural city where agriculture and industry thrive.

A Seongju County official stated, "Exceeding $1.1 billion in exports is a valuable achievement achieved jointly by the administration and businesses. Despite the global economic slowdown and uncertainties in the trade environment, we will continue to support the growth of local businesses by further expanding export support that proactively responds to corporate demand."
