대구․경북지방중소벤처기업청(청장 김한식, 이하 대경중기청)은 유망 스타트업 육성을 위해 창업기획자를 대상으로 ‘2021년도 팁스(TIPS:Tech Incubator Program for Startup, 민관협력창업지원사업*)운영사’를 4월 20일부터5월 20일까지 한달간 모집한다.

대경중기청에 따르면 팁스(TIPS)는 민간과 정부가 공동으로 유망 창업기업을 발굴해 육성하는 사업으로 민간 운영사가 선투자(1∼2억원)한 창업기업에 정부가 연구개발(R&D, 최대 5억원), 사업화(최대 1억원), 해외 마케팅(최대 1억원)등을 연계 지원하는 프로그램이다.

팁스는 2013년 신설돼 현재까지 1,234개 창업기업을 육성해 총 39,149억원의 민간 후속투자를 유치했으며, 25개사는 인수합병(M&A)됐고, 5개사는 주식공개상장(IPO)에 성공했다.

중기부는 올해 팁스에 신규 창업기업 400개사를 선정 지원할 계획이다.

이는 지난해보다 100개 증가한 규모로, 늘어난 창업기업 지원을 위해 팁스 운영사도 10개사를 추가 선정할 계획이다.

이번 운영사 선정 시에는 인공지능과 데이터 등 4차 산업혁명 분야 전문성을 갖춘 창업기획자와 지방 소재 창업기획자를 우대해 디지털 전환이 가속화되는 경제 환경에 신속히 대응하고 비수도권 유망 창업기업도 적극 발굴할 예정이다.
