지난 28일 울산에서 개최된 전국 시‧도의회 의장협의회 2021년 제6차 임시회에서 수석부회장으로 선출된 고우현 의장은 9월 정기회에서 선출된 김인호(서울시의회 의장) 회장과 함께 1년간 협의회를 이끌게 되었다.

수석부회장으로 선출된 고우현 의장은 4선 경력의 도의원으로 누구보다 지방자치에 대한 이해도가 높고, 그간 타 시도 의장들과 쌓아온 유대와 신뢰를 바탕으로 김인호 회장과 함께 누구보다 협의회를 잘 이끌어 갈 적임자라는 평가를 받았다.
