포스코 포항제철소(소장 남수희) 는 직원들의 안전한 조업을 위해 매달 '설비 테마 점검'을 실시하고 있다고 9일 밝혔다.

설비 테마 점검 활동은 제철소 정비부서 주관으로 설비 고장의 위험요인을 고려하여 설비를 면밀히 살펴 설비 이상을 사전에 예방하는 활동이다.

포항제철소는 매달 계절 및 기후 요인을 반영하여 설비 테마 점검을 실시하고, 점검 과정에서 미흡한 점이 발견되면 즉시 개선하여 작업자의 안전을 확보함과 동시에 생산설비가 최적의 상태를 유지할 수 있도록 조치하고 있다.

이번 혹한기 대비 설비점검은 12월 한달 간 실시하며, 점검 대상은 겨울철에 기온이 크게 떨어졌을 때 영향을 받을 수 있는 △유압/윤활 장치 △옥외 냉각수 배관 △제설 장비 △협력사 근무시설 등을 선정했다.

동파에 의한 유압/윤활 장치 및 냉각수 배관 막힘으로 공장 설비 가동에 영향을 미치지 않도록 보온상태를 일제 점검하고, 폭설에 의한 교통마비에 대비하여 페이로더 등 제설장비 가동과 염화칼슘 보충상태를 일제 점검할 예정이다.

또한 동절기 화재예방을 위한 가설건축물의 난방기구, 소방 및 전기시설들에 대한 특별 진단과 협력사 근무시설의 노후된 난방설비, 온수기, 보일러 등을 신품으로 교체하는 협력사 상생활동도 같이 실시한다.

포항제철소 설비 관계자는 “연말에도 조업에 차질이 없도록 철저하게 점검에 임했다"며 "앞으로 보다 안전한 환경에서, 좋은 제품을 생산할 수 있도록 설비 관리에 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
