올해로 28회를 맞는 세계가스총회는 가스 산업 발전과 지식·기술·정보 교류를 위해 3년마다 국제가스연맹(IGU)이 주최하는 세계 최대 국제 행사로 우리나라는 세 번의 도전 끝에 2014년 유치에 성공했다.
가스공사는 지난 17일부터 20일까지 한국가스안전공사 대구광역본부·대성에너지와 함께 대구 곳곳을 돌며 특별 점검에 나섰다.
수소‧CNG‧LPG 충전시설뿐만 아니라 국내외 방문객이 주로 이용할 동대구역과 대구국제공항, 호텔, 메인 행사장인 대구 엑스코 컨벤션센터 등 특정가스사용시설의 안전을 두루 살폈다.
가스공사는 이번 세계가스총회 공식 후원사로서 행사 참여자의 안전을 최우선 목표로 삼고 각종 시설 위험요인 제거 및 철저한 안전사고 예방에 만전을 기하고 있다.
가스공사 관계자는 “정부 및 대구시 등 유관기관과의 긴밀한 협력으로 세계가스총회가 성공적으로 진행되도록 총력을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
