이번 메디시티대구 홍보활동은 엑스코 동관에 설치 된 대구홍보관에서 대구한방병원과 함께 한방진료체험하기, 호텔수성, 호텔인터불고, 메리어트호텔 등에서 한복입기 체험을 포함 한 웰컴 홍보부스 운영, 모명재 한국전통문화체험관에서 미니 팝업테이블 운영 등으로 진행됐다.
특히 수성구는 의료관광통역사를 현장에 파견해 홍보 현장에서 의료기관 방문으로 이어질 수 있도록 통역, 픽업, 웰니스 관광지 안내 등 맞춤형 의료관광 컨시어지 서비스를 제공했다.
베네수엘라 출신의 케나(46)씨는 “모명재 한국전통문화체험관의 한국 다례체험에 참가 후 다음날 K뷰티 체험을 위해 수성구 황금피부과를 방문했다”며 “평소 한국드라마를 좋아하는데 대구가 메디시티로 유명한지 전혀 몰랐다. 음식도 정말 맛있고 피부과의 스킨케어도 너무 좋았다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
성웅경 수성구청장 권한대행은 “올해 대구에서 열린 대규모 국제행사를 계기로 국제전시 참가 외국인이 박람회 관람 뿐 아니라 관광 및 의료관광객으로 이어질 수 있도록 수성구의 관련 인프라 조성에 힘쓰겠다.”고 말했다.
