군위군민들의 분노가 일파만파 거세지고 있다.

군위군 통합신공항 추진위원회(대표 박한배)는 8일 대구시민추진단(대표:최백영,진영환)함께 안동에서 군위군의 대구편입을 반대한 김형동 의원 규탄 차량시위를 벌였다.

이들은 40여대와 방송차량 등 50여대가 참여한 이번 시위에는 김형동 의원 사무실 인근 시가지 10km를 돌며 김형동 의원에 대한 사퇴요구와 대구편입 약속이행을 요구했다.

추진위는 “사적 이익에 따라 550만 시도민의 약속과 기대를 저버린 김형동 의원은 반드시 사퇴해야 된다”며 “앞으로 일어날 사태에 대한 모든 책임은 김형동 국회의원”이라고 규탄의 목소리를 높였다.

박한배 위원장은 “편입을 통해 대구경북이 상생하고 신공항을 통해 재도약 할 수 있는 기회를 발로 찬 김형동 의원은 역사의 심판을 받을 것”이라고 했다. 덧붙여 “내일 있을 경북 국회의원들의 회동에서 대승적 결단이 없다면 통합신공항은 물 건너갈 것”이라고 했다.

한편 김형동 의원은 7일 있었던 대구경북지역 국회의원들간의 회동에서 “9일 경북지역 국회의원들을 만나 이 문제를 심도 있게 논의해 보겠다”며 공을 경북 국회의원에게 돌려놓은 상태다.

지역 정치권은 9일 회동에서는 김 의원도 더 이상은 반대만 할 수는  없을 것으로 내다보고 있다. 그럼에도 이날도 해답을 내놓지 못할 경우, 김 의원의 정치적 고립은 가속화될 것이란 전망이다.

김형동 의원은 이번 반대 의견과 관련 “경북의 행정구역 하나가 떨어져 나가는 것으로 경북 주민들을 설득시키고 이해시키는 과정이 필요하다”고 주장해 왔다.
