국민의힘 김형동 의원(경북 안동·예천)이 김미애(부산 해운대구을), 최승재(비례대표) 의원과 함께 전현희 국민권익위원장을 만나 추석 기간 「부정청탁 및 금품등 수수의 금지에 관한 법률」의 농수산물 선물가액 한도를 10만원에서 20만원으로 상향해달라고 요청했다.

지난 31일 전현희 국민권익위원장을 면담한 김형동 의원은 지난 2분기 밥상 물가가 1년 전보다 7.3%나 올라 10년 만의 최고치를 기록하는데 현재 청탁금지법은 공직자 및 직무관련자에 대한 농수축산물 선물가액 한도를 10만원으로 제한하고 있어 현실 물가를 제대로 반영하지 못하고 있다고 지적했다.

이에 전현희 국민권익위원장은 “추석 명절에 맞춰 한시적인 20만원 상향을 적극적으로 검토하겠다”면서 차후 예정된 전원위원회에 상정하고 심도 깊게 논의할 것을 약속했다.

그러면서 청탁금지법이 공직자와 직무 관련성이 없는 사인 간에는 적용되지 않는 법령임을 적극 홍보할 방침이라고 전했다.

권익위가 해당 건의를 수용해 선물가액을 상향할 경우, 코로나19로 어려움을 겪고 있는 농수축산업종사자, 중소상공인, 영세자영업자에게 큰 도움이 될 것으로 전망된다.

실제 지난해 추석 당시 선물 상한 가액이 한시 조정되면서 농식품 선물 판매액이 2019년 추석보다 304억원(7%) 증가한 4,646억원으로 관련 중소상공인들에게 큰 도움이 된 것으로 드러난 바 있다.

김형동 의원은 “지난 설까지 한시 적용했을 때보다 현재 코로나 상황이 훨씬 더 심해졌다”며 “이번에도 선물 한도 상향으로 절박한 상황에 처한 농수축산업종사자, 중소상공인, 영세자영업자 분들께 도움을 드릴 수 있기를 바란다”고 강조했다.
