차기 도정을 이끌 경상북도지사 후보들의 정책과 공약, 정견을 들을 수 있는 선거방송 토론회가 1회에 그쳐 유권자의 알 권리를 충분히 보장하지 못하고 있기 때문이다. 

이철우 후보가 5월 23일(화) YTN 라디오 인터뷰에서‘법정 토론회외 추가로 하자고 한다면 피할 이유가 없다’는 취지의 의사를 밝힌 만큼 추가 토론회가 성사될 수 있을지 관심이 쏠리고 있다. 

임미애 후보는 "도지사 출마자라면 향후 5년간 도정을 어떻게 이끌어갈지 정책공약과 비전으로 도민들을 설득해야 한다”며 “새로운 경상북도를 만드는 토론이 실질적으로 이뤄지려면 토론회를 추가로 열어야 한다. 이철우 후보는 분명한 입장을 밝혀달라”고 토론회 개최를 요구했다. 

한편, 경상북도지사 후보 법정 TV토론회는 오는 25일 밤 11시부터 1시간 동안 생중계로 진행될 예정이다.
