무용과 성악극으로 재창작한 '댄스오페라 춤추는 카르멘'은 웅장한 오케스트라와 함께 전문 오페라 가수들의 라이브에 시시각각 변화하며 움직이는 현대무용 댄서들의 창의적인 춤이 더해져 갈라 형식의 오페라가 아닌 전막 오페라를 보는듯한 기존 오페라의 높은 장벽을 낮춘 혁신적인 작품이다.
이번 공연은 성악가들의 아름다운 목소리가 비제의 선율을 타고 관객들의 귀를 만족시킬 뿐만 아니라 무용수들이 만들어내는 몸의 미학과 에너지 넘치는 춤, 연극적 표현으로 관객들의 눈 또한 만족시키는 공연을 선보인다.
