2022년 경상북도 외로움 실태조사에 따르면, 도민의 60%가 외로움을 느낀다고 나타났다. 외로움 정도가 높아질수록 우울감과 자살을 생각한 경험이 높아지는 것으로 알려져 있다. 

이에 청도군은 외로움으로 심리적인 어려움을 경험하는 주민에게 사회적 관계 형성과 다양한 소통 회복의 기회를 제공하고, 지역사회 내 심리적 공동체를 조성하고자 경상북도 대화 기부 운동 사업에 동참했다고 28일 밝혔다.

김하수 청도군수는 “코로나19 팬데믹의 장기화, 1인 가구 증가, 경제 불황, 경쟁사회 등으로 외로움 감정의 증가 및 사회적 문제가 대두되고 있다.” 며 “이번 챌린지를 통해 대화기부운동을 알리고, 군민의 외로움 해소와 행복한 삶을 위해 최선을 다하겠다.” 고 밝히며, 다음 챌린지 대상으로 박미란 청도군 보건소장을 지명했다.

한편, ‘대화기부운동’은 경상북도에서 추진하는 ‘K-외로움 대책사업’ 으로 대화 기부자와 대화 요청자가 대화를 나누고 마음을 나누는 외로움 극복 활동으로 경상북도 대화기부 홈페이지에 접속해 신청하거나 청도군정신건강복지센터에 직접 방문해 신청이 가능하다.
