【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구한의대학교가 변창훈 총장의 한국해양소년단 경북연맹 연맹장에 선임 됐다고 14일 밝혔다.

한국해양소년단 경북연맹은 대구·경북 청소년들의 해양사상 고취를 위해 다양한 해양 활동을 펼치는 해양청소년 단체이다.

경북연맹은 1985년에 창설되어 2017년에 대구연맹과 통합·운영하였으나 점차 그 역할이 약화되었다.

이에 경북연맹은 새롭게 독립하여 출발하기 위해 지난 14일 포항형산강수상레저타운에서 창립총회를 개최했다.

총회에서는 대구한의대 변창훈 총장과 포항시 김남일 부시장, 국립청소년해양센터 김동섭 원장 등 30여 명이 참석한 가운데 2023년 사업 계획이 발표되었다.

이와 함께 위원들의 만장일치로 대구한의대 변창훈 총장이 한국해양소년단 경북연맹 연맹장에 추대되었다.

변창훈 총장은 “지역 청소년들에게 해양스포츠를 통해 심신을 단련시키며, 다양한 해양교육 문화 프로그램을 통해 해양 미래를 이끌어갈 인재가 될 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다."라고 말했다.

Daegu Haany University announced the appointment of President Byun Chang-hoon as the head of the Korea Maritime and North Gyeongsang Federation.

The Korea Maritime Boys' Gyeongbuk Federation is a maritime youth organization that engages in various maritime activities to promote maritime thought among youths in Daegu and Gyeongbuk.

The Gyeongbuk Federation was founded in 1985 and integrated and operated with the Daegu Federation in 2017, but its role gradually weakened.

In response, the Gyeongbuk Federation held an inaugural general meeting at Pohang Hyeongsan River Water Leisure Town on the 14th to start independently.

At the general meeting, a business plan for 2023 was announced in the presence of about 30 people, including Daegu Haany University President Byun Chang-hoon, Pohang City Vice Mayor Kim Nam-il, and National Youth Ocean Center Director Kim Dong-seop.

Along with this, Daegu Haany University President Byun Chang-hoon was appointed as the head of the Korea Maritime and North Gyeongsang Federation through the unanimous vote of the members.

President Byun Chang-hoon said, “We will actively support local youths to train their minds and bodies through marine sports, and to become talents who will lead the future of the marine world through various marine education and cultural programs.”
