경북 포항에서 여고생이 귀가하던 중 다리에서 투신하려던 남성을 대화와 설득으로 구조해 화제다.

17일 경북경찰청에 따르면 지난 12일 오후 8시 53분, 경북경찰청 112치안종합상황실에 여고생의 다급한 신고가 접수됐다.

학원을 마치고 귀가 중이던 김은우 양(포항중앙여자고등학교 3학년)이 연일대교 난간을 넘어 투신하려는 남성을 발견하고 긴급히 도움을 요청하는 신고였다.

신고전화는 출동한 경찰관이 함께 끌어내려 소중한 생명을 구조하기까지3분여간 계속되었다. 김 양은 신속한 112신고와 동시에 대화와 설득을 병행하며순찰차가 도착할 때까지 소중한 생명을 구조하기 위해 최선의 노력을 다했다.

이에 김철문 경북경찰청장은 자살기도자를 구조한 김 양에게 소중한 생명을 살린것에 대한 칭찬과 감사의 뜻을 담아 표창장을 수여했다.

김은우씨는 “무조건 살려야겠다는 생각밖에 없었어요. 젖먹던 힘까지 내서 아저씨를 붙잡고 있었어요”, “아저씨가 살아서 정말 다행이고, 무슨 일인지는 제가 잘 모르겠지만 마음의 어려움을 잘 극복하셨으면 좋겠어요” 라고 소감을 전했다.
