【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경북경찰청(청장 최종문)은 오는 26일부터 내년 3월25일까지 3개월간 ‘스토킹 가해자를 대상으로 하는 상담·치료 프로그램’을 시범 운영한다고 23일 밝혔다.

이번 ‘스토킹 가해자 상담·치료 프로그램’ 시범운영은, 경북경찰청이 대상자를 선정하고 경북자치경찰위원회가 800만원의 예산을 지원해 도내 전문상담기관 등과 협업으로 유관기관 간 의견수렴 과정을거쳐 구체적 시행계획을 확정했다.

이번 프로그램은 스토킹가해자의 접근 제한과 형사처벌만으로는 근본적 해결이 될 수 없음을 인식하고, 신고 초기 단계부터 상담전문가와 함께 스토킹 가해자의 재발위험성에 대해 종합·정밀하게 진단하여 위험성 감소 방안을마련하고, 이러한 상담·치료를 통한 스토킹 가해자의 재범을 사전에 방지하고자 하는 것이 시행의 취지이다.

이번 시범운영 경찰서는 도내에서 스토킹 신고가 많은 구미·경산·포항남부와 권역을 감안한 안동까지 총 4개경찰서에서 운영된다.

대상자 선정은 시범운영 기간 중 스토킹 행위 재범 위험성이 높은 대상자 20명(각서 5명)을 선정, 상담·치료 프로그램에 동의한 자에 대해서 실시할 예정이며, 대상자 1인당 상담·치료는 5회기(1회기 1시간)로 진행되고, 그 결과는 스토킹 재범 위험성 판단자료로 활용할 계획이다.

최종문 경북경찰청장은“이번에 시행하는 ‘스토킹 가해자 상담·치료 프로그램’ 시범운영이스토킹 재범 위험을 근본적으로 감소시키고 더욱 확대되어 피해자의 평온한 일상 복귀에도움을 줄 수 있기를 기대한다.”고말했다.

이순동 경북자치경찰위원장은 “앞으로도 여성 관련 기관·단체와 적극 협력하여 경북 실정에 맞는 여성안전 대책을 지속적으로 추진하고, ‘여성이 안전한 경북’을 만드는데 최선의 노력을 다하겠다.”고 덧붙였다.
