【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=대구자치경찰위원회(위원장 설용숙)는 DB손해보험(대표 김정남), 대구서부범죄피해자지원센터(이사장 심기봉)와 ‘스토킹 등 범죄피해자 주거안전 확보’를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

19일 대구자치경찰위원회에 따르면 이번 협약을 통해 DB손해보험은 사회공헌기금 1억 7천만 원을 대구서부범죄피해자지원센터에 지정 기탁하고, 대구서부범죄피해자지원센터는 기금을 집행·관리한다.

또 대구자치경찰위원회와 대구경찰청은 스토킹 범죄 피해자 등 범죄 노출 우려가 있는 사회적약자 147가구에 홈‐도어가드(CCTV)를 무상 설치한다.

특히 민간경비업체의 홈‐보안 서비스를 3년간 지원하는 등 사회안전망 확보라는 공익적 가치 실현을 위해 함께 노력할 것을 약속했다.

박기현 DB손해보험 전략기획본부장은 “지속적인 지역사회 취약계층 후원을 위한 다양한 사회공헌활동을 통해 기업의 사회적 책임을 다하기 위해 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

심기봉 대구서부범죄피해자지원센터 이사장은 “일회성 지원이 아닌 지속적인 사업으로 발전하도록 운영하고, 모범사업으로 틀을 갖춰 다른 지역으로도 확대되기를 기대한다”고 전했다.

설용숙 대구자치경찰위원회 위원장은 “사각지대에 놓인 사회적 약자를 보호하는 실효성 있는 안전장치가 될 것으로 기대한다"며" 가해자에 대한 처벌만큼 중요한 것이 피해자 보호이기에 범죄 피해자가 사회로부터 안전하게 보호받는 여건이 조성될 수 있도록 꾸준히 노력할 예정이다”고 밝혔다.
