22일 예천군에 따르면 이날 아침 일찍부터 대회에 참가하기 위해 각국 선수들이 속속 예천진호국제양궁장으로 모여들면서 본격적인 시작을 알렸다.

이번 대회는 지난 4월 30일 최종 엔트리 결과 50개국 514명의 선수와 관계자들이 참가하며 5월 26일까지 6일 동안 진행되며, 대회 첫날인 오늘 오후 2시부터는 컴파운드 예선경기가 펼쳐졌다.

컴파운드 예선경기에 나선 한국 선수는 남자부에 김종호, 양재원, 최용희, 박승현 여자부에 한승연, 오유현, 소채원, 송윤수 선수로 모두 본선 경기에 진출하면서 순조로운 출발을 했다.

특히 한승연 선수는 여자부 개인전에서 711점으로 아시아 신기록을 세웠으며 단체전에서도 여자부가 총 2126점으로 세계 신기록을 경신했다.

대회 이틀째인 내일(22일 수요일) 오전에는 컴파운드 단체전(남자, 여자, 혼성)이 펼쳐지며, 오후 2시부터는 리커브 예선전이 펼쳐진다.

컴파운드 결승전(5월 25일(토))과 리커브 결승전(26일(일))은 SPOTV를통해 라이브로 중계되며 결승전을 위해 조성된 결승경기장은 초록 잔디와 소나무가 어우러진 최고의 경관을 선보이며 실력을 겨룰 궁사들을 기다리고 있다.
