【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=국민의힘 경북도당(위원장 박형수)은 7월 13일, 대구 경북도당사 5층 강당에서  2025 경북도당 운영위원회를 개최하고, 구자근 국회의원(구미시갑)을 신임 도당위원장으로 만장일치 추대했다고 14일 밝혔다.

이날 운영위원회에서 구자근 의원은 참석 위원들의 전원 찬성으로 단일 후보로 선출됐으며, 향후 당 비상대책위원회의 승인 절차를 거쳐 최종 확정될 예정이다.

구 신임 도당위원장은 21대와 22대 국회에서 연이어 당선된 재선 의원으로, 국민의힘 내에서 원내부대표, 당대표 비서실장 등 요직을 두루 거쳤으며, 현재는 전략기획부총장과 중앙위원회 수석부의장으로 활동 중이다.

경북도당 관계자는 “당의 조직 강화와 내년 총선 승리를 위한 체계적 준비가 필요한 시점에서, 풍부한 당직 경험과 전략 기획력을 갖춘 구 의원의 역할이 기대된다”고 전했다.

한편, 국민의힘 경북도당은 향후 신임 도당위원장과 함께 당무 혁신과 지역 민심 결집을 위한 활동을 본격화할 방침이다.
